In the early 1980's I was hired by Al Merrick to help with the growing backlog of orders at Channel Islands Surfboards. Al taught me everything he knew, and I soon moved into doing primarily custom shapes. I worked at CI for over 20 years, and gained a tremendous amount of experience building boards for the world's best surfers. I always maintained my own label as a more creative and personal avenue, designing and building strictly one-off, hand-shaped custom boards. I work with each person to determine the board best suited to their style and conditions. |
